本属は1属1種。本種は熱帯に広く分布し、多食性で様々な植物に見られる。日本ではこれまで本州（関東地方、静岡県）でイネ科やツルマメから得られている。

This genus is monotypic. C. octarticulatus is widely distributed in the tropic to subtropic areas and polyphagous. In Japan, it occurs on Poaceae or Glycine soja in the central Honshu.
